Hi! I’m Joanna

Just a silly goose reporting live from the North Cascades of Washington State, I’ve been blogging since 2009. In 2020, my husband and I decided to blow up our lives and move to a remote cabin. While avoiding packing, I began a side quest: what’s the best pair of everyday, basic underwear? And when I asked my Instagram community in Stories, nearly everyone said I should report back with my findings because they, too, were looking! And thus, Underwear Thesis was born.

Underwear Thesis is my highly scientific journey to find the most comfortable pair of basic underwear—no weird specialty fabrics, mostly cotton, no lace, certainly not lingerie and comfortable enough to wear every day (but like… a clean pair).

The series lived on my blog and was great. I love the reviews I wrote. But then I sort of lost interest because most of my community wants to see the renovations—which I totally understand!

So now I’m here, on Substack, to build a community around Underwear Thesis. My ultimate goal is to share new reviews with you, while also fostering community where we can chat about what’s working for us and what’s not. I’m so excited you’re here and can’t wait to get back to chatting about undies!
